We all want to change something about ourselves. We want to be healthier, smarter, more loving, more productive…we want to have more fun, be more relaxed, have more peace. And the beginning of a new year is the most popular time for deciding to change. It feels like the slate has been washed clean and we get to start all over again. But it hasn’t, and we don’t.
The date on the calendar has almost nothing to do with realizing the changes you’re looking for in your life. Let’s put aside the list of big goals and changes we want to see happen in 2018, and let’s decide on a few small things that we can begin to do that will lead to change.
We just finished celebrating the story of how God became like one of us, allowed himself to be born a tiny little baby, in a humble little manger, barely noticed by the world, so that He could change EVERYTHING, FOREVER!
Small things, that people might not even notice, are what will begin to lead to the big changes we need.
Over the next few weeks we’re going to talk about some small adjustments we can make to our thoughts, our words and our habits. I’m convinced that God wants to transform us so that we become what we were created to be. I can’t even imagine what that will look like, but it’s so much fun to figure it out together.
Join us Sunday mornings in January, at 10:30 a.m., and bring a friend. If you can’t make it, check back here on our web site to listen to each week’s message.
