Explore together
Ask your children if the puppets’ summary of Genesis to 1st Samuel reminded them of any of their favorite Bible stories? Then take a family survey:
Have each family member share who their favorite Bible character is and why.
Have everyone share what their favorite Bible story is. Let them explain why it’s their favorite and what it teaches us about God.
Seek God together
God showed so much patience with His people, didn’t He? God’s love never gave up on them and nothing could stop His rescue plan. Eventually Jesus came to die on the cross and rise from the dead to save us from sin!
Take turns thanking God for His patience, His forgiveness, and His love. Then conclude your time of prayer by saying the Lord’s Prayer together.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory now and forever. Amen.
